Fall is coming

Fall is finally making itself known, even though there are still hot days, they seem to lack the mugginess of the summer days that have come before.

The leaves are now turning and some are falling. We are having more cooler days with breezes and wind (this means days where the temperature actually gets below 80 F and are usually in the low to mid 70's.
My bike on campus, you can see the leaves on the ground.

There is another Typhoon set to come visit us on Saturday or Sunday. The last Typhoon was really strong and dropped so much rain I had a full bucket on my balcony for my plants to use later.

Many people come to the Kyoto area near Nara to go 'Maple Hunting' and they look for autumn colors in the scenery.
Praying Mantids look for places to lay their eggs on my balcony.

One great thing about Japan in the fall is the abundance of seasonal foods like persimmon, mushrooms, fish, chesnuts, rice and more.

I have definite plans of eating these! I will be fishing in Toushi Island in 2 weeks, so I need to catch a fish!
Perhaps it was my flowering plant that drew her in?
